While there has been an option for childcare on the Williams campus for many years, our current facility was opened in the fall of 2007 in anticipation of bringing the Williams Children’s Center “in-house” as a department of the college. The college considers quality early education and care to be an essential component of faculty and staff recruitment and retention. The Children’s Center, and the place it holds in family’s lives, is just one of the many rich aspects of community life in Williamstown. The Children’s Center also connects college and area community families in their shared lives of raising the community’s children.
The Williams College campus provides exciting opportunities for learning to children at the center whether they visit sites for exploration and study or invite campus experts to participate in project learning. Williams College students and other local students make use of the center for observational research, projects, internships, volunteering, and student employment and are welcome at any time to come see what we’re all about!
